AN A N C I E N T Irish saga h a s been t r a n s f o r m e d into a m u l t i - m e d i a show celebrating Irish heroism, daring and love, portrayed through dance, film, and original Irish music for a new millennium and will premiere in Galway next week. Tara is the brainchild of Gerard Fahy, who collaborated with Michael Flatly on 'Feet of Flames' and has just finished five years of touring the world with various international productions. A cast of 25 actors, dancers and musicans will perform this powerful and engaging drama, which tells the story of two men's love for Aoife, daughter of Cormac, High King of Ireland. Cormac offers his daughter's hand to Mordha, a chieftain from the north, but Aoife is in love with Fionn, the strongest warrior in her father's army. Cormac engages Cruionn, a powerful druid, to use his magical powers to resolve the situation. The show will run for a 12-night period, commencing on Monday July 22 and running until Thursday July 25, at the Inis Mor Ballroom at the Galway Radisson SAS Hotel. The show on Thursday 25 will be the Cancer Care West Charity Gala Premiere. This formal event will raise much needed funds for the work carried out by Cancer Care West in its care programmes for both cancer patients and their families in the West of Ireland.
