I never remember a colder day watching a G.A.A. game. And then we had the cock-up over the time of the game. And cock-up it was whoever was at fault. But we had a right good hurling game in the conditions and Connacht were a trifle lucky to win in the end by 1-10 to 1-9. My Connacht stars were Sylvie Linnane who scored a vital late point from a 100 yards free; Brendan Lynskey, durable as ever; Joe Cooney, always the classy forward and Anthony C u n n i n g h a m , at last beginning to find his feet and scoring 2 capital points.

Game v. Clare
Galway hurlers now meet Clare in Ballinasloe next Sunday and this is one we cannot afford to lose. After losing to Limerick, another loss would be a big blow t morale and would possibly knock us out of the play-off stages of the N . H . L . But a win is on.
