Following the news that Mirror Mirror, the fashibn group with shops in Dublin. Cork, Belfast and Dundalk, have taken over Maceys there have been many surmises as to when Galway will have the benefits of this young, forward looking fashion group, In an interview with the Galway Advertiser a s p o k e s w o m a n for t h e company said that Galway was a city in which Mirror Mirror had been looking for an opening for some time, Unfortunately, a large and prestigious unit was not readily available and so they were faced w i t h the predicament, when acquiring the Macey group, that the shop in Galway Shopping C e n t r e did not q u i t e facilitate the range of attractive, young fashion which they would normally present in a city of Galway's dimensions. A solution may soon be forthcoming in that there is a possibility of their acquiring a much larger unit in Galway city so that they can have a retail unit on the same scale as their Cork branch, one of their largest. In the meantime, the Galway Shopping Centre shop is chockoblock with a good representation of Mirror Mirror's merchandise -- attractive, separates, summer dresses in prettiest pastel, leading names like Michael Mortell, Michel Ambers, Kriss dresses of London, Norma Kamali, Betty Jackson, Michael Gall -- well to the fore, and the manageress, Nora O'Donnell, and her staff are happily opening boxes daily of newly arrived stock, Available ai Mirror Mirror, Galway Shopping Centre What in fact the company is trying to do is to produce a regularly changing stock in the smaller unit until such time, happily in the quite near future, when the city will have a Mirror Mirror b r a n c h to j u s t i f y its importance Pictured here is just a sample of clothes available at Mirror Mirror in the Galway Shopping Centre
