Geantrai -- Visitors will "the Real
Every Tuesday, Thurs day and Friday, until the end of August, visitors and citizens can enjoy some of the very best traditional music and dance at the Taibhdhearc Theatre, Middle Street.

Where find

Thing"

Geantrai--the music of love and laughter, one of the divisions of musical lore in a n c i e n t I r e l a n d , is a colourful presentation of mainly West of Ireland music. The cast includes the Damhsoiri na Taibhdhearc

and the renowned Fahy Family from Ballinakill, with Liam Dillon on the "box". Taibhdhearc chairman, Mr. Sean Stafford, welcomed the first audience at a reception last Thursday, pointing out that the show was inspired by the fact that visitors to the city often found it difficult to find "real thing" in Irish music and culture. "Of course Geantrai is not just for visitors but also for the

people of Galway who are encouraged to bring along their friends also". The first performance was officially opened by Cllr. Gerry Molloy, deputising for the Mayor. NEW ADMINISTRATOR The Taibhdhearc have recently appointed a new full-time administrator, Sinead OhAllurain. She is the first official adminis trator since the days of

Wally Macken and will be available to assist visitors and play a full part in

running Ireland's unique Irish language theatre.
