Fintan Coogan's achieve ment, however, captured everyone's attention and won wide applause. Fintan set out to win a place in all three of the city wards to vindicate his long standing reputation as a public representative. Very much the ould school politician, the city was shocked two years ago when Fintan was dropped from Fine Gael (which he served as a city T.D. for 20 years) after He refused to Support his party's candi date for a Council cooption.
