)rama Festival Triumph
S E N S A T I O N A L final night drew Galway's fourth I n a t e u r D r a m a Festival t o a close. T h e St. Ignatius lall was filled to capacity last Sunday and the fcdience erupted with solidarity w h e n Robert olloy, Minister for Local Government, pledged his pport for an English Speaking Theatre in Galway. The main purpose of the ening was of course, to ar Mr. Frank Bailey, the stival Adjudicator--annnce the winners. But fore he spoke, Mr. Liam raghty, President of the nior Chamber of Commce, pointed out that durthe nine days of the festival, approximately |)00 people came to see plays. "That tells me," jd Mr. Geraghty, "Galy needs a Theatre and lway is prepared to suprt one!" Mr. Robert blloy agreed with Mr. Geraghty: "It is now ob vious to me," he said, "that there is a need for an English speaking thea tre in the city. The Salthill Recreational Complex, which is still being talked about, will include a thea tre. Let's hope what we get there is what we ex pect. I have discussed the Celtic Arts Theatre project with Mr. F r a n k Bailey and it has my full support. I hope I can make some sub stantial contribution to help achieve this great target." This year's Drama Festi val, promoted by the Jun ior Chamber and spon sored by Messrs. Arthur Guinness, was the most successful yet. The festi val's organiser, Mr. Hugh Murray, insisted that a high dramatic standard was to be the main criterion for competing groups this year as the Junior Cham ber are striving to have their Festival affiliated to Athlone. On Thursday eve ning, members of the Ath lone Drama Committee we re in the audience and their verdict is expected shortly. The winning play was U.C.G.'s " T h e R u l i n g Class," and the best pro duction and 'Set' awards went to the Athenry Players.

Bloody red will be bloody red
Telefunken invented the Pal colour television system which is being used throughout Europe (including Ireland). One o f the reasons European broadcasters choose the Pal colour system was because o f its true colour fidelity. Even over long distances blush pink remains blush p i n k and bloody red remains bloody red. Naturally Telefunken designed a special colour T V set as part o f the Pal Colour system. N o w y o u can get this colour set here in Ireland. It's called the Telefunken Pal colour and comes in 22" and 25" screen sizes. It's the best way o f ensuring that you see television i n its true colours.
