H o w ' r e ye this week, I h o p e ye're enjoying t h e fine weather, isn't it gorgeous. I see m e friends t h e C h e r r y Blossom trees are in full bloom this weather and very pretty they are too. Speaking of trees, I see that the shower of wood b u t c h e r s w h o work, I ' m told, for t h e E . S . B . committed an assault o n t h e trees in St. Paul's R o a d , out there between F r . Griffin Road and M o n t p e l i e r T e r r a c e . I d i d n ' t see t h e m at it but I ' m told that it was they w h o did t h e dirty deed. I know that these trees have to be p r u n e d out of t h e way of t h e wires--until the wires go u n d e r g r o u n d -- b u t this was not p r u n i n g , it was an act bordering o n vandalism-- shame o n y e ! I am most h a p p y to see that an old friend of m i n e J o h n M u r r a y , formerly of Heaslips A n t i q u e s , has gone into b u s i ness for himself, fair play to h i m . I would say t h a t h e has t h e finest stock of antique furniture in t h e whole p l a c e ; d o w n in his n e w showroom between Flood Street and St. Augustine Street. G o o d on ye J o h n n y , go n-eiri leat! N o w , , I m u s t tell ye about a fine new publication I got to read the other day. It is t h e 21st anniversary booklet of Braithreacht na Coiribe. T h e r e are articles there b y such eminent scribes as M i c k 'Tarka' O'Donnell, Frankeen Gal., F . X . O'Brien a n d , of course, Joeeen L a r d n e r (the h a r d working secretary w h o sticks it out t h r o ' thick and thin). T h e r e ' s photographs of t h e founding fathers in a m e r r y m o o d on their first night o u t , with Transistor
