Fiat's new Sedici 4X4 commercial offers affordabilty and more
With the launch of their Sedici 4X4 commercial, Fiat Auto Ireland claims that it has a strong new contender in the SUV 4X4 segment. The Italian carmaker says that the newcomer is ideally suited for people such as farmers and those in agri-business who spend time on and off paved roads and need to carry light loads. It adds that the Sedici is a tough off-roader with real car comfort and features, easy to drive, and economical to run. The new Sedici 4X4 commercial uses the 1.9 litre 16v 120bhp multijet turbo-diesel engine to give it the power to work in most conditions. It operates normally as a two-wheel drive vehicle to deliver maximum fuel economy. However at the touch of a button it becomes an all-wheel drive vehicle. And, when the driver isn't sure which system is best for the conditions, the Sedici 4x4 commercial can make the decision for him, thanks to a clever computer which monitors grip and torque available to front and rear wheels and then selects two wheel or four wheel drive accordingly. With its 535 kg payload and a load area measuring 1400mm, this newcomer offers a real alternative. At a recommended retail price of 20,995 ex-works including VAT (that's an RRP of 17,787 ex-works with the VAT reclaimed). Fiat Auto Ireland could be right when it says "this looks like a real winner in the tough battle against rising costs".
