1,000 voucher for best dressed lady at Clarenbridge Oyster Festival
BY JULIE TIERNEY Fashion, flair, and elegance will be the order of the day at the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival's best dressed lady competition which takes place in the festival marquee on September 9. Involved with the selection of the finalists this year will be copresenter of RTE's Off the Rails Pamela Flood, who was herself voted most stylishly dressed lady at the recent VIP fashion awards. The best dressed lady competition is sponsored by designer and milliner Maretta Gorman Geoghegan of Ail Ruin Design Centre, Clarenbridge, and will have a prize of a 1000 voucher. Ruth Quinn of Q Beauty will be sponsoring the most creative headpiece. The 2006 Clarenbridge Oyster Festival takes place from September 8 to 10 and as always tickets are in huge demand. Event organisers are advising patrons to secure their tickets as early as possible as two of the main events are already sold out and tickets are normally sold out well in advance of the festival. The continued success of this festival ensures an injection of more than 4 million into the local economy with more than 10,000 people passing through the festival marquee throughout the course of the weekend. For further information visit www.claren bridge.com or call (091) 796766.
