LIFE

MARY
You are sitting at home relaxing and suddenly find you have come out in goose bumps. "Why?" you wonder. Well, it may be a sign that your guardian angels are trying to communicate with you. Dr Susan Scott - an international lecturer with the Inner Peace Movement who will speak in Galway later this month - says the secret of getting in touch with your angels is to remain calm. "If you stay relaxed it will probably come to you what they are trying to say. They may be confirming something you thought of or that someone else has just said. They may be trying to warn you about something. They may be trying to reassure you that everything is OK and that they are there to help you." Most people imagine angels as winged white figures but this is not always the case, says the British born Canadian who travels the world with the Inner Peace Movement - a non-profit, educational organisation which teaches people how to find balance and purpose in their lives. "Some people have seen angels and not always as white figures with wings but as ordinary people. Some people hear a quiet voice in their head - the still small voice within. Others get a gut feeling or instinct about something. Still others have an inner knowing or hunch about something that turns out to be true." Everyone, without exception, has at least one guardian angel, she says. "Some people have more. It depends upon our life purpose. If we are here to work with people then we will have at least three angels. In the Inner Peace Movement you can learn how many angels you have and how to have a two-way communication with them so that you can receive specific answers." balanced lifestyle. We need to remember that our angels are not there to tell us what to do or make decisions for us. They are like a very loving, guiding, unseen presence and are constantly giving us suggestions or reminders that come to us through a picture in our mind, a thought in our head, a gut feeling or a hunch. The whole key is to trust what comes to us." Making time for ourselves is essential to creating a better balance in our lives, she says. "Most of us get so stressed out trying to do everything for everyone else that we never have time for ourselves. We need time for our personal self, time for our business affairs and time for our social relationships. How we organise our time is up to us individually, but we all need time for all three of these. Getting them mixed up or missing out on one or the other is guaranteed to spoil the fun in our life because we will begin to feel stressed and not know exactly why."

ourselves and knowing what is right for us. We also need to have a balance between our personal, business and social lives to help us be more relaxed and happier with our daily life and our relationships." Ms Scott says a positive attitude helps foster inner peace and build a good relationship with your angels. "No-one can help us have a positive attitude. It is entirely up to each of us individually. What I find helps is to always see the glass as half full rather than half empty. Do I have only 10 in my pocket and feel broke or do I have 10 that makes me feel wealthy and that I can do something with? Everything depends on our attitude. "To me, it is not what life throws at me but how I handle what life throws at me that counts. I believe that there is always a solution to anything that comes our way. Sometimes it takes patience and persistence to find it. But if we have the mindset that there is a solution, we will find it. Above all, do not deny your feelings. Listen to them and move into action. Sitting around and thinking and analysing never works - it just digs us deeper into the hole. Go back to your first impression about the situation, trust that impression, and move into action." * Dr Susan Scott will present lectures on "Life with a Purpose" on Tuesday May 30 at 1pm and 7.30pm at the Ardilaun House Hotel, Taylor's Hill. Admission to the one-and-a-half hour lectures is 15. Tapping into angel power

Inner peace
An increasing number of people are searching for inner peace and for purpose in their lives, she says. Despite greater material wealth, many are unhappy and feel life is meaningless. "People are questioning and searching as to what their life is all about and what they are here to do. We can have a lot of material things but unless we have peace of mind and a sense of satisfaction with our lives we will always feel that something is missing. "We need inner security and confidence that comes from trusting

The best way to communicate with your angel is to relax, says Susan Scott.

Communicate with angels
The best way to communicate with your angels is to relax and not worry about things, she believes. "When we get tense we cut off communication with our angels. Taking two or three slow deep breaths is a great way to relax and to go within ourselves so we can hear their voice more clearly. Analysing and dissecting does not work! Usually the more we think about something the more confusing it gets. If we relax and trust our first impression that will be the solution for what we are looking for. If things do get confusing, just ask yourself, what was my first thought about all of this. "When we have a good communication with our angels life goes infinitely easier for us. We end up doing the right thing at the right time and don't worry as much. Trusting what comes to us as inspiration from our guides or angels gives us an enormous sense of confidence in knowing what our life is all about and how to achieve a
