Scottish woman tells of her battle for peace of mind
BY MARY O'CONNOR A Scottish woman who battled alcohol, despair and drug addiction will speak here at the weekend about her journey to peace of mind and hope. May Nicholson, who has been the subject of two BBC documentaries, will tell her story at the Castlepark and Ballybane Community Centre on Saturday night at 7.30pm. Her book Miracle from Mayhem, which features a foreword by The Earl of Dundee, tells her story and exciting life to date. May likes to quote Nelson Mandela -"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us... And as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same".
