Teenagers in court for graffiti damage to Moycullen buildings
Two 19-years-olds appeared before Galway District Court this week in connection with damage which was caused when graffiti was sprayed all over the church, school, and community centre in Moycullen village last July. Simon Kenny, The Holly, Bailenahalla, Moycullen, and Brian Wallace, Aill an Phreachain, Furbo, face three summons each in connection with causing criminal damage to Moycullen church, community centre, and school on July 21 last year. Defence solicitors Valerie Corcoran for Kenny -- and Deirdre O'Connor for Wallace, said they would indicate on the next date whether or not their clients would be pleading guilty or not guilty to the offences. Judge Mary Fahy adjourned the matter for mention to May 8 next and said the court would have to be told on that date what course each accused was taking. A third accused, who is a minor, was not before the court and will be dealt with under the Garda Juvenile Liaison Scheme. It is understood it will cost well in excess of 10,000 to clean and repair all of the buildings affected.
