O'Malley workers rally up support

Atlantic Laser and Optics Forum launched at NUI Galway

Almost 30 industry representatives attended the recent launch of the Atlantic Lasers and Optics Forum at NUI Galway. This was the first step in the establishment of ALOF as a cluster of companies, all of which use lasers and advanced

optics in their products and processes. They will be linked to the facilities and expertise of specialist research groups in NUI Galway. The forum was initiated jointly by Prof Chris Dainty, Science Foundation Ireland

Companies represented at the launch included Intel, Analog Devices, Hewlett Packard, Boston Scientific, AVE-Medtronic, Bausch & Lomb, Alcon, Lufthansa, Element 6, and Lake Region Manufacturing, while a number of other high profile companies have expressed interest in joining the forum.
