Coffee morning for guide dogs tomorrow
BY UNA SINNOTT A coffee morning will take place in Barna village tomorrow (Friday) to raise funds for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. Barna Opticians is hosting the event to raise money for the charity, and the practice will donate 10 to the IGDB for every pair of designer sunglasses sold before Saturday. IGDB is a national charity which relies on voluntary donations and fundraising to raise 80 per cent of its income. The group provides guide dogs and training for its clients, along with providing follow-up advice and care and independent living courses for the blind and visually impaired. Fergal Friel of Barna Opticians will be on hand at tomorrow's event to offer advice and answer questions on eyecare, and supporters can also meet guide dogs and their owners at the coffee morning. The event will take place in Barna Opticians tomorrow from 11am to 2pm.
