Westside play facilities still not up and running says Connolly
BY KERNAN ANDREWS Westside's children and parents are still waiting for the promised improvements and expansion to the Westside play facilities, according to Cllr Colette Connolly. It was agreed that the play facility's bark chippings would be replaced by a new rubber surfacing making it accessible to all. In addition, durable fencing, picnic facilities, and extra swings were to be built. Cllr Connolly said despite the promised funding and completion date of July/August, parents are now being told cutbacks to these planned improvements are necessary due to the high costing received. "The people of the Westside deserve better than this," she said. "I will be asking that funding for the above will be sourced so that the works as promised can be implemented
