Bohermore woman arrested for own safety
A young Bohermore woman who caused a disturbance outside a city centre night-club was arrested for her own safety, Galway District Court heard this week. Pauline Faherty, 13 Coole Park, Bohermore, was not in court when charged with being drunk and a danger to herself and others at Forster Street, Galway, on September 20 last. Garda David Delahunty said he was called by staff to a disturbance outside their pub. The accused had been refused entry because she was highly intoxicated. Garda Delahunty said he had to arrest Faherty for her own safety. Judge Mary Fahy convicted and fined the accused 120.

Fashion show in Loughrea
BY MARY O'CONNOR A county Gaelscoil is hosting its fourth annual fashion show in the Meadow Court Hotel, Loughrea on Tuesday, October 19 at 8.30pm. This event, the brainchild of Gaelscoil Riabhach, promises to be bigger and better than before. It will feature top outfits from local shops. Suzanne Doyle, the winner of Galway Now's 21st Century Woman competition - who recently featured on RTE's Meet the Family - will be one of the stars on the night.
