Renault cars have been a favourite of the people of Galway for years, but tonight a new era in Renault will be born in the city. The attractive Galway Renault showroom, which first opened on the Tuam Road in 2000, will tonight be officially opened under the auspices of the Citygate franchise. Citygate is the largest network of dealers in the Renault brand in Ireland with successful dealerships in Dublin, Ennis, Sligo, Portlaoise, and now Galway. Attending tonight's grand opening will be Bill Cullen, chairman of Renault Ireland distributors. The Citygate brand has lifted the Renault image immensely on the western seaboard and has really raised the standards of all the dealerships involved. "With block exemption all dealers have had to invest heavily and Galway Renault is now poised to compete with the best," says managing director of Galway Renault Tony Barbour. "The state-of-the-art showroom is at the cutting edge providing a very modern, spacious and comfortable environment to view the impressive Renault range." Already Renault cars are highly visible on the streets and roads of Galway city and county - a testament to the success of the garage to date. " We have achieved remarkable result since opening in December 2000," says Mr Barbour. " We have secured Renault's presence in the Galway market. Things are on the up for Renault - people really love our cars and especially our safety features."
