Large Galway land bank opens for residential homes
O ' D O N N E L L A N Joyce auctioneers has just brought to t h e market possibly one of the largest land banks for residential homes within the Galway city area. The zoned residential land is located at Doughiska, three miles east of Galway city centre, and has extensive frontage onto the main Galway dual carraigeway and the Doughiska Road. Interest is anticipated from major developers and builders not only locally but also nationally due to the strategic importance of this land. The lands are surrounded by major residential developments such as Tur Uisce (Mclnerneys), Garran Ard (Foy), Castan (Sawgrass Propeties) and Ballybrit (Atlantic Homes). These lands are located in an area which has been extensively developed in recent years. An enormous volume of house sales testifies to the fact that the area is rapidly becoming Galway's most developed and most sought after location to the eastern side of the city. The lands are surrounded by all the major services and will make development for housing relatively easy, with a guarantee of excellent house sales on obtaining planning permission. The guideline for the lands is in the region of 500,000 per acre, and the total anticipated price is in the region of 9 , 0 0 0 , 0 0 0 for the sale of the circa 18 acres. The land is beint.j offered for sale by tender. The tender date is Friday October' 16 2002. All tender documents must be submitted to the offices McDermott & Allen, St Francis Street, Galway, solicitor for the vendor Ms Mary Moylett.
