Test drive the Skoda Superb
Monaghan & Sons, Galway, is now previewing its new top-of-the-range Superb which will be launcTtriMatenS month. Today (Thursday) and car dealer will host an Superb, which will also be day up to 4pm. tomorrow the Tuam Road exclusive preview of the available for test drives each The new Superb comes with six engine versions - three petrol and three diesel each available in three trim and specification packages Classic, Comfort and Elegance. Referred to by "Skoda as its new S-class (S meaning spacious), the new Superb has one of the most gracious cabins in its class, boasting excellent rear seat spaciousness. Petrol models begin with an entry-level 2.0-litre 115bhp version at 27,700 (ex works) followed by a 1.8-litre turbocharged 150bhp version at 29,500, and a 2.8-litre V6 193bhp version at 37,400. Diesel models range from a 1.9-litre TD1, lOObhp version at 28,500, a more powerful 130bhp version at 30,400, to a 2.5litre V6TDI 155bhp version with six-speed gearbox at 38,600. The Superb brings Skoda into a totally new market, straddling the B/C scgmeaB (the B segment alone currently accounts for well over 20 per cent of new car sales) where it will compete with a cross section of Ireland's most popular midrange models.
