Galway Combined Residents Association is spearheading a major drive against the proposed new home tax. The Association is joining forces with the Homeowners Rights Association in a na tional war against taxes on family homes. "No Home Tax" is the short, sharp message emblazoned in red on the stickers that are being distributed throughout Galway as part of this initiative. This is only the beginning of the battle, the organisers warn.

Says Gerry Corbett, PRO, Galway Combined Residents Association (GCRA):"We are outraged that the govern ment is targeting the family home as a source of revenue. "Ordinary householders accrue no profit from it, so why should we pay a poll tax as proposed by the Taoiseach?"
