We in the West sometimes feel that our Dublin cousins have the edge on us when it comes to a whole range of things. Well, that's changing rapidly, at least so far as the printing business is concerned. Castle Print L t d . has j u s t introduced a custom-built machine, the first-ever in Galway, that guarantees that both small and large businesses receive a fast, efficient and trouble free way of prin ting invoices, p u r c h a s e o r d e r s , a n d statements, along with the particular firm's own logo or im print, in single or multi colour. This makes Castle Print the only printers in Galway to provide such a specialised service to the Galway business community, as well as to businesses throughout the county. And not only has the in troduction of this latest, state-of-the-art technology changed things for Galway businesses, but it has also created two new jobs as a direct result of the service. And Castle Print Ltd. is already anticipating the creation of four more full time jobs by the end of this year as more and more businesses take advantage of this unique new service. The decision to introduce the new Continuous Sta tionery Press was not taken without careful and exten sive market research. Com pany Director Cathal Devlin says that they investigated printing houses in England, France and Germany in order to secure not only the best state-of-the-art machinery but to ensure to tap into the knowledge and expertise of the printers on the continent. Castle Print already has an enviable reputation, due in large measure to the pride taken in providing the highest quality service on

the part not only of Cathal Devlin but also fellow Director Joe O'Flaherty. Both men are additionally proud of the fact that they

associates frankly told them they were taking a very big chance in going out on their own. But both men, between them, had a total of thirty years experience working with the Connacht Tribune and they decided to take the risk. It was not an entirely reckless gamble, as both Cathal and Joe had shrewd ly recognised that an open ing existed for a firm such as the one they had in mind. In 1986 they moved to their present premises on the Tuam Road and since then that gamble they took has paid off handsomely. Not only have they expanded

their premises and work force, but by staying ahead of the posse they have clear ly demonstrated that the ser vice they offer can suit the needs of their customers, no matter how complicated their requirements may be. Castle Print employs fourteen highly-trained peo ple at their factory at Unit 4, Liosban Estate. Tuam Road, right behind the AIB Bank, and they already have plans for further expansion. They are fortunate also in having the benefit of the years of experience of their Production Manager, Pa O'Connell, who, in his twenty-six years, has dealt with virtually every business in the City and the County.

are making a contribution to the creation of new employ ment at a time when Galway is still feeling the effects of the recent jobs setback. The introduction of the new facility is also a genuine example of a company responding to customer de mand. Director Joe O'Flaherty explains that many of their existing customers had expressed a strong interest in having such a high-tech facility in Galway so they did not have to go elsewhere - that is. Dublin - to gel their sta tionary printed. Castle Print is only eight years old. but already it has managed to establish itself as one of the top printing facilities in the West of Ireland.
