It is important to make a good impression at all levels of job searching. So keep letters short, infor mative and well typed to get you past the wastepaper bin.

State simply and clearly which job you are applying for and why you are in terested in it. Give a brief outline of your skills and experience. Be sure to keep a copy for your files. The company will res pond by telling you they have no vacancies at pre sent or will ask for further information i.e. curriculum vitae or to fill in a company application form. Read the form complete ly once or twice before making a rough draft of the answers. When you are happy with the rough ver sion, print the answers, clearly and neatly on the official form.
