Corrib will be looking to build on their first game, which they won against Dublin's West Coast Coolers in Oughterard on Saturday. In convincing style, Cor r i b took t h e g a m e im mediately to their Dublin opponents and within 15 seconds had the first two points on the board from their American Katie Delaney. T h e next five minutes saw the scores see-sawing bet ween the two sides with Corrib trailing by a point and struggling a gins t the t a l l e r defensive Dublin ladies. However with g r e a t determination and good t e a m work, they went into a half t i m e lead of eight points with the score of 38 30. due to foul t r o u b l e West C o a s t C o o l e r s changed their p a t t e r n of play which added to Corrib's problems a n d their lead slipped to three points within five minutes of the second half. But with a display of spirit, Corrib fought back with Ann Marie Kyne and Katie Delaney linking up well to show their shooting ability. Corrib stretched the lead back to eight points after ten minutes. With some fine defensive play from Trish Corbett, M a r y Kyne and J o e Burke, Corrib in creased this lead yet again to take the g a m e out of Coolers' grasp. This was a g r e a t s t a r t for t h e C o r r i b L a d i e s , under coach Kathleen McCarth, and with the ser v i c e s of t h e v e r s a t i l e A m e r i c a n Katie Delaney, Corrib look forward to moving up t h e L e a g u e table this year.

Style
It w a s a touch a n d close first half with the score a t half t i m e 0 - 5 to 0 - 1 in the w i n n e r s ' favour. Corofin fought b a c k in g r e a t style and they might h a v e won the day. But in the end the honours rested w h e r e they belonged. H a t s off to t h e m e n behind gaelic football in Oranmore-Maree - men like Mike Kelly and G e r r y Kelly who a r e h a r d to find. However spare a thought for Corofin who have lost two county finals inside a month. No doubt they will be back fighting again.
