Conferring of awards to take place next week in GMIT
BY MARIA DALY Some 2,600 students are expected to graduate from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology this month. Conferring of awards will take place in GMIT, Galway on Wednesday November 8 to Friday November 10, and in GMIT, Castlebar on Friday November 17. Conferring at GMIT Galway will take place in the Corrib Heights Hotel next week, with 11 sessions will taking place over the three days. There will also be conferring at GMIT, Castlebar on Friday November 17, with two sessions at 11am and 3pm. The Galway awards ceremony, will be followed by a graduate reception in GMIT, Dublin Road. The Castlebar conferring take place in St Mary's Hall, main campus building, followed by a graduate reception. All awards at undergraduate, taught master's, degree of master by research and degree of PhD in aquatic science, and mechanical engineering will be conferred by GMIT as a result of delegated authority under Section 29 of the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 1999. Other awards will be conferred under the auspices of the HETAC and FETAC.
