Canney welcomes Tuam county council office plans
BY UNA SINNOTT Cllr Sean Canney has this week welcomed plans by the Galway County Council to examine the possibility of incorporating a new court house within the overall development of a new council area office in Tuam. The council has confirmed that it is in discussions with the Court Services and the Department of Justice, Equality, and Law Reform in relation to the proposal. The design of the new council office is at an advanced stage and county councillors this week approved a loan of 3.5 million for the construction of the regional office. The proposal to incorporate the court house within the development should not prolong the timescale of the overall development, Cllr Canney said. The council is also planning to develop a new regional office in Loughrea.
