PAWS 4 THOUGHT
in association with Galway SPCA
If you can make one of these lads' lives happier, please phone the sanctuary at: 09096-76397 (Opening Hours 10am to 12.30 and 2pm to 4.30pm), or the GSPCA office: 091563631 / 568572. Check the website: www.galwayspca.com to view all the animals. And remember that homechecks are always carried out for all our animals and a donation is required. 3. Dogs will often eat pills or tablets spilled on the ground and will sometimes chew through a pill bottle and eat the contents. Medications should be kept out of reach and in closed cupboards. 4. Most household plants only cause mild toxicities, but lilies can cause severe kidney disease if ingested by cats. 5. Some human foods can also be toxic to animals, such as chocolate, grapes, and raisins. 6. Cockatiels often chew on things, and leadbased paint can create a problem, as can Tefloncoated pans in the

DOGS:
Scamp: has been with the GSPCA since he was a pup, but is now one-yearold and a fine big strapping lad. This German pointer cross is full of beans and in great shape. He just loves bounding around the grounds showing off his lovely cream/brown coat. Scamp would be terrific with a bunch of kids - how about introducing him to your lively family? Shep: is a black/white one-year-old male collie who is a little bit shy and would appreciate some gentle guidance. Like all collies, Shep will be a wonderfully intelligent companion in the right home. Bear in mind that dogs who have been dumped are usually cautious to begin with, but reward you with a lifetime of thanks once they know that they have a permanent home.

CATS:
Fudge: is as sweet as her name. This little grey/white tabby can fit into the palm of your hand and is very docile. She will grow up into a beautiful puss, and is especially proud of her fluffy coat. Fudge is only around three months old, so you may want to consider taking one of her pals from the sanctuary for company, such as Casper, our pure white lady - another real beauty.

Preventing Pet Poisoning - Six Things to Avoide
1. The most common and deadliest danger to pets is antifreeze, which is often spilled on the ground, found leaking from a radiator, or left in a bucket after a fluid change. 2. Other potential poisons include lead-based paint (often found in older homes), medications, and some plants.

kitchen. Always supervise your birds when they are flying free. Neither should their cages be near the kitchen, as heated Teflon can send out toxic fumes that kill.

Fudge

Panther: is a longhaired all-black male of around one year who came to the sanctuary with his pal Tizzy. Tizzy is a little younger, but identical to Panther. This sleek, sophisticated duo are extremely friendly and will be a credit to any self-respecting household. These two lads would love to run your home jointly but are prepared to take individual offers too.
