Have Sky's Lisa air a weather broadcast live from your school
It's last call to submit entries into the Sky News' competition for primary school children -- the Sky News Weather Challenge. The annual competition invites children aged seven to 11-years-old to design a poster on the theme of `weather in the news'. Sixteen winning posters will all be featured as a backdrop to the weather on Sky News. Four schools will each win the top prize -- a Sky News weather broadcast live from their school. Plus the class that submitted the winning poster will have a masterclass from Irish born Sky News weather presenter Lisa Burke and Francis Wilson, where they'll be shown how to build a weather instrument from household items. Lisa and Francis will also talk the children through top tips for TV presenting. Other prizes include widescreen televisions, access to Sky News, goody bags, as well as certificates and medals. "The competition is designed to fit within either geography or art classes," says Lisa. "Kids love drawing, especially when it's exciting. The weather always hits the headlines, whether it's floods in the south of England or hurricanes in Florida. The Weather Challenge aims to engage children in the news, in a fun way." The competition closes on Friday February 13 so kids need to get working on their drawings today. More than 13,000 schools across Ireland and Britain have been sent entry packs. Full competition details are available at www.sky.com/weatherchallenge
