A f t e r r e a d i n g y o u r r e c e n t a r t i c l e , In Defence of Moshers, I felt I s h o u l d w r i t e in a n d c o n g r a t u l a t e y o u on t h e p o i n t y o u m a d e a b o u t t h e disgraceful w a y i n which m o s h e r s a r e t r e a t e d . I ' m d e l i g h t e d s o m e b o d y else h a s a s t r o n g o p i n i o n o n t h e issue a n d d o e s n ' t hesitate t o p u t pen to p a p e r a n d stand u p for themselves. Like many other moshers, I ' v e had plenty of experiences where some ignorant moron makes a stupid remark about my clothes or make up. I ' m sick of being constantly judged by immature, small-minded idiots w h o have nothing better to do than criticise people they don't even know. Similarly, it's quite a n n o y i n g when you walk into a restaurant and everyone stares at you as if you're from Mars. It's a l s o e m b a r r a s s i n g b e i n g f o l l o w e d a r o u n d a s h o p by security as if y o u ' r e a criminal. I c a n ' t walk down a street w i t h o u t s o m e o n e s h o u t i n g ' d e a t h c h i l d ' o r " m o s h e r ' or 'vampire' at me. My friends are sick of it too. As you clearly said, the number of moshers in o u r city is increasing all the time, so those w h o slag us and ridicule us really need to grow up and realise that while they're laughing at our clothes and interests, w e ' r e laughing at their stupidity and ignorance. However. I'm sure you will agree with me when I say al least we have a place like the Gaf, where we can hang out with our friends and socialise with decent teens. E O'G, Athenry. PS Good luck with future features 'coz c h @ z o n c ' s gonna be a huge success!!!
