St. Nicholas' Avenue, near Galway docks is one of the oldest streets in Galway. The street is only open to traffic from the Docks side. The residents have only 4 cars between them. Yet, on an average week day as many as 24 cars are parked bumper to bumper much to the annoyance of the residents. Cllr Liz Hackett told the
City Council on Monday the situation is so bad residents cannot even have coal delivered to their homes. When residents complain to car-owners leaving their cars there they are given cheek! "It's too much" said Cllr Liz. She wants the road made Pedestrian Only. City officials agreed to look into the matter.
