CHRISTMAS ART ^ COMPETITION WINNERS

These are the prize winners in the Christmas Art Competition who attended the prizegiving at the County Library, St. Augustine Street last Friday. The Mayor of Galway, Cllr. Martin Connolly presented the prizes and the winning paintings were exhibited. Also in the picture is Veronica Craven of Cregal Art Products, one of the main sponsors of the competition. Tom Kenny of Kenny Art Gallery was the principal judge of the competition and also a prize sponsor.

Sanya O'Grady (9 years) of St. Patrick's N.S. Cregmore was a winner in the under 11 section.

Eoin Stephens (14 years), of Fr. Griffin Road, was the overall winner of the Christmas Art Competition, whose painting featured on the front page of this newspaper on Christmas week. Eoin was congratulated by the Mayor at the prizegiving ceremony last Friday.

Sisters Aisling and Lorna Griffin (9 years), both pupils at Scoil Rois, Taylors Hill, Galway with the Mayor, Cllr. Martin Connolly when they received their prizes.

Paul Egan (6 years), a pupil at the Brothers of Charity Renmore was a winner for his painting.

Evelyn Hogan (16 years) a student at Seamount College, Kinvara, being congratulated by the Mayor for her prize winning picture.

Martina Prendergast of the Mercy Convent, Galway, who was a category winner in this year's Galway Advertiser Christmas Art Competition.
