Leave the cold outside and relax in a hot bath
BY MAGDALENA SZULC Dreading the thought of being outside? Struggling to keep warm inside? Take a bath before you go to bed and you'll never wonder again how to warm yourself up. Baths are usually enjoyed more in the evenings as there is more time for them and people are inclined to delay leaving their bathtubs more so than their showers. Running a hot bath makes for a great way to help you keep warm in winter, relax your body and mind, and forget for a moment about the rest of the world. There are things you can do in order to increase the level of pleasure and make your bath something more than just a washing experience. When you're pouring hot water into the bathtub, use some lovelysmelling bath oils to put you in a relaxing mood. You can also light a few candles and leave them around, provided they are in safe places, away from flammable things. If you're home alone and know nobody will be disturbing you for the duration of your bath, you can also put on some soothing music in the room nearest to the bathroom and leave your door open. Some people enjoy simply soaking in the water reflecting upon things in peace, some prefer forgetting about everything and everyone around them for a while, and others still fancy reading a book while in the bathtub. Whatever works for you and helps you unwind is very advisable, especially in winter time. Taking a bath shortly before going to bed is also known to help people fall asleep. If not that, it still is relaxing, enjoyable, and highly advisable for you. When you decide you've had enough of that goodness and it's time to go back to earth, always remember to take great care when stepping out of the bathtub. The floor might be slippery from water so make sure it is dry and safe to stand on. Dry yourself then, wrap up well, and enjoy a great night's sleep.
